ROADSHOW for the week beginning July 24, 2006
Inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances may occur, so the information below is strictly of an advisory nature and is subject to change with no notice.
Pothole patching, sweeping, drain & ditch cleaning, pavement marking, and maintenance crews may work on major interstates in the Louisville Metro area only during non-peak daytime hours and at night. Motorists should watch for roadside maintenance and pavement marking crews on interstates and highways throughout the rest of the district on a daily basis.
Jefferson County:
Interstate 71: Left lane closure on both northbound and southbound lanes between I-64 in downtown Louisville to the Jefferson/Oldham County line (mile point 0 to 11.3) due to construction project for installation of median cable barriers. Lane closures are possible during the weekday evenings (Monday – Friday) from 9:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning and on weekend evenings (Saturday – Sunday) from 7:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit in this work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH and the double fines will be enforced.
Interstate 64: Left lane closure on both eastbound and westbound lanes between the Cochran Hill Tunnels and Breckenridge Lane (mile point 8.6 to 11.5) due to construction project for installation of median cable barriers. Lane closures are possible evenings (Sunday - Saturday) from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. The speed limit in this work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH and the double fines will be enforced.
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible in both directions between the Oxmoor Farm Bridge and the Floyds Fork Bridge (mile point 13.8 and 21) due to roadway resurfacing. These lane closures are from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2006 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24, 2006. The speed limit in this work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH and the double fines will be enforced. Construction in this area will continue through November 2006.
Westbound Interstate 64: Left lane closed between Tucker Station Road overpass and Watterson Expressway (mile point 17.6 to 12.1) from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2006 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31, 2006 to allow for bridge deck repairs as part of the I-64 resurfacing project. The speed limit in this work zone will be reduced to 45 MPH and the double fines will be enforced.
Interstate 64: Right shoulder closure daily in both directions between the Oxmoor Farm Bridge and the Floyds Fork Bridge (mile point 13.8 and 21) due to guardrail repairs.
Brownsboro Road (US 42): Lane closures and delays possible between I-264 and KY 841 (mile points 5.7 to 8.9) due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures are possible weekdays (Monday – Friday) from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning. Work will continue on weekends from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 6:00 a.m. on Monday.
KY 841/US 42: Shoulder closures and delays possible from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at this interchange due to ramp relocation.
Third Street (KY 1020): Lane closures and delays possible between Main Street and Broadway due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures will occur weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
Bashford Manor Lane: Possible construction delays between Bardstown Road and Newburg Road due to road widening. Lane closures possible daily from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Road is closed to through traffic between Newburg Road and Mayo Drive until mid August to allow for bridge replacement. Local access will be allowed to side streets.
Fern Valley Road (KY 1631): Possible construction delays between Grade Lane and Signature Drive. Lane closures possible weekday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Lane closures also possible on weekends from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. Construction work to continue through August 2006.
Outer Loop (KY 1065): Possible construction delays between Minors Lane and Shepherdsville Road (KY 2052). Lane closures possible weekday evenings from 7:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning. Lane closures also possible on weekends from 9:00 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday. Construction work to continue through August 2006.
Hurstbourne Parkway (KY 1747): Lane closures and delays possible from Taylorsville Road to Bardstown Road (mile points 0 to 3.5) due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures will occur weekdays between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.
Dixie Highway (US 31W): Lane closures and delays possible from Orell Road to the Jefferson/Hardin County line (mile point 0 to 7.1) due to roadway resurfacing.
Blue Lick Road (KY 1450), Brownsboro Road (US 42), Hurstbourne Parkway (KY 1747), Herr Lane (KY 2050) Billtown Road (KY 1819), Blankenbaker Parkway (KY 913): Lane closures and delays possible due to pothole patching.
National Turnpike (KY 1020), Greenwood Road (KY 1931): Shoulder closures and delays possible due to ditch cleaning.
Interstate 64, Interstate 71, Interstate 264, Interstate 265, KY 841: Shoulder closures and delays possible due to roadway sweeping.
Dixie Highway (US 31W), Outer Loop (KY 1065), Fern Valley Road (KY 1631): Shoulder closures and delays possible due to roadway sweeping.
Bullitt County:
Interstate 65: Shoulder closures and delays possible between mile point 103 and 123 due to ditch cleaning.
Franklin County:
Interstate 64: Shoulder closures and delays possible in both directions between mile points 53 and 58 due to tree trimming to improve sight distance.
Henry County:
Northbound Interstate 71: Road will be reduced to one lane at the bridge over the Little Kentucky River (mile point 28.1) due to bridge deck repairs.
Interstate 71: Shoulder closures and delays possible between mile points 24 and 38 due to mowing around signs and guardrails.
US 421: Road is closed to through traffic between KY 241 and the intersection of KY 22 and KY 3222 through August 3, 2006 due to bridge replacement. Local access will be allowed. Motorists should follow the signed detour via KY 241, KY 1359 and KY 22.
KY 146 LaGrange – Newcastle Road east of Bartlett Fork Bridge (MP 5.4 – 5.9): Possible lane closures and delays due to roadway improvements.
KY 22 Ballardsville Road: Lane closures and delays possible between the Henry/Oldham County Line and KY 55 (mile points 0 to 7.4) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 1899 Mulberry Pike: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 55 and the Shelby/Henry County Line (mile points 0 to 1.8) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 22: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 573 and KY 389 (mile points 13 – 22) due to cross-drain repairs.
Oldham County:
Interstate 71: Shoulder closures and delays possible in both directions due to mowing.
KY 329: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 1817 and KY 329B ((mile point 5.1 to 7.2) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 22: Lane closures and delays possible between KY 146 and KY 53 (mile point 3.5 to 11.5) due to two sections of the roadway being resurfaced.
KY 1817 (Cedar Point Road): Lane closures and delays possible between mile points 3 and 4 due to base failure repairs.
Shelby County:
Interstate 64: Lane closures and delays possible between mile points 30 and 38 due to roadway resurfacing. Lane closures are possible each evening (Sunday – Saturday) from 8:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
Interstate 64: Shoulder closures and delays possible in both directions due to tree trimming to improve sight distance.
Spencer County:
KY 155 (Taylorsville Road): Lane closures and delays possible between KY 55 and the Jefferson/Spencer County line (mile points 0 to 4.2) due to roadway resurfacing.
KY 623: Shoulder closures and delays possible due to ditch cleaning and shoulder repairs.
KY 44, KY 1251: Shoulder closures and delays possible due to mowing for sight distance.
Trimble County:
KY 754: Shoulder closures and delays possible between mile points 0 and 3 due to ditch cleaning.
