  • NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 71 LANES TO BE REOPENED

    Bridge deck repairs on northbound Interstate 71 in Jefferson County are being completed ahead of schedule. Work was scheduled to be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 26th, but due to the good weather crews will be finishing the work this morning. All lanes should be open by noon today and construction work will not take place over the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
  • PREPARATORY WORK TO BEGIN ON KENNEDY BRIDGE REPAIRS

    Contract crews are gearing up for repairs to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge and four ramp bridges in the Interstate 64/65 interchange. Work is scheduled to begin this evening on installation of debris containment and work platforms under the entrance and exit ramp bridges between I-64 and I-65.

    Construction work is scheduled to continue over the Memorial Day holiday weekend on the Interstate 65 pavement replacement project. Crews will be paving the right lane of southbound I-65 between the Chestnut Street overpass and the Watterson Expressway (I-264).

    With the Kentucky Derby festivities coming to an end, two projects on Interstate 65 in Louisville will resume construction activity next week. Repairs to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge will continue with work shifting to the southbound lanes of Interstate 65. Also, after a month’s hiatus, construction will resume on the pavement replacement project on I-65 from just north of the Watterson Expressway (I-264) to the Chestnut Street overpass near “Hospital Curve.”
  • REPAIRS TO BEGIN ON THE JOHN F. KENNEDY MEMORIAL BRIDGE

    Work is scheduled to begin next week on repairs to the John F. Kennedy Memorial Bridge on Interstate 65 over the Ohio River. The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is administering a construction contract for steel and deck repairs to this structure. Repairs will also be performed on ramp bridges in the I-65/I-64 interchange.

    Construction on Interstate 71 in Louisville will pick up again next week after the Kentucky Derby festivities. Paving of the final asphalt surface on the southbound lanes of I-71 is scheduled for the weekend of May 11-14. At the same time, contract crews will be making bridge deck repairs on the northbound lanes.
