Interstate 65 Traffic Advisory for Metro Louisville

Louisville, KY (January 26, 2006) - District 5 of the Department of Highways office announces  temporary lane closures on southbound Interstate 65  in downtown Metro Louisville Thursday night, January 26, 2006.   The left two lanes of southbound I65 from approximately the John F. Kennedy Bridge to the Chestnut St. bridge (mile points 136.4 – 135.3) will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening until 5:00 a.m. Friday morning to allow for concrete pavement repairs.  The actual starting date and duration of this work may be adjusted if inclement weather or other unforeseen delays occur. 

Motorists are urged to be cautious and reduce speed.  Stay alert and minimize distractions, and keep a safe distance between your vehicle, the car ahead, and the workers and their equipment.  This is a reminder we must all help reduce the number of highway work zone accidents and fatalities.  Slow Down to Get There!
