Bridge Deck Restoration to Begin on KY 61 in Bullitt County

Louisville, KY (July 22, 2011) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) District 5 Office advises motorists to be aware of impending construction on KY 61 in Bullitt County at Salt River Bridge (mile point 14.0). Work is scheduled to begin the week of August 1st to perform bridge deck restoration and waterproofing on this structure.

American Contracting & Services, Inc. was awarded the contract for this project in the amount of $698,793.  The work is scheduled for completion by November 15, 2011. 

During construction, KY 61 will be reduced to one lane at the bridge for approximately six weeks. Traffic will be controlled by a temporary signal.  Lane restrictions at the bridge are scheduled to begin the week of August 1st.
