FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

 

Louisville, KY (August 10, 2006) - The Kentucky Department of Highways announces the following traffic conditions on Interstate 64 in Jefferson County for August 11 – 14, 2006.

 

Lane closures are possible in both directions during the weekday evenings (Monday – Thursday) from 9:00 p.m. in the evening until 6:00 a.m. the following morning to allow for asphalt pavement resurfacing on ramps as part of the I-64 resurfacing project.

 

Right shoulder closures are possible daily in both directions between the Oxmoor Farm Bridge and the Floyds Fork Bridge (mile point 13.8 and 21) due to guardrail repairs.

 

Eastbound Interstate 64:  Lane closures will occur between the Oxmoor Farm Bridge and the Floyds Fork Bridge (mile point 13.8 to 21).  Lane closures are possible during the weekend evenings (Friday – Sunday) from 9:00 p.m. Friday until 6:00 a.m. Monday to allow for asphalt pavement resurfacing as part of the I-64 resurfacing project. 

 

Westbound Interstate 64:  Left lane closed between Tucker Station Road overpass and Hurstbourne Parkway (mile point 17.6 to 14.8) from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2006 until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14, 2006 to allow for bridge deck repairs as part of the I-64 resurfacing project. 

 

The speed limit will be reduced to 45 MPH in the construction zone and double-fines will be enforced.
