Frankfort, Kentucky-- Diamond Caverns of Park City, KY announces its Spring Preview of the Kentucky Collection, offering an array of the state’s crafts, visual arts, books, food and music available for purchase from 1pm to 4pm (CDT) on Saturday, May 22. The preview  will feature musician Lorinda Jones from Rineyville and Park City's very own local craftsperson Sharon Haines of Natural Accents. Diamond Caverns cave will be open for public tours. http://www.diamondcaverns.com/home.htm

Diamond Caverns gift shop has been a Kentucky Collection store since 2001 and was selected as one of eleven stores to participate in this unique state sponsored program.The Kentucky Collection, a pilot project of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program, is an assortment of the state's crafts, foods, visual arts, books, and music available to retailers in a custom-designed case with signage and marketing support. The goal of the Kentucky Collection program is to provide Kentucky retailers a convenient and easy way to sell the state’s products. Partners  include the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Kentucky Arts Council, and the Kentucky Book Fair.

Lorinda Jones and Sharon Haines represent two of the approximately 100 vendors that have products available  for sale through the Kentucky Collection. Lorinda Jones is a nationally  recognized Celtic harp and mountain dulcimer performer/teacher who specializes in Celtic and American traditional music.  She will perform from 1pm to 3 pm.  CD's, books and videos will be available for purchase. Sharon Haines is a long-time participant of the Kentucky Craft Marketing Program and sells her unique dried flower arrangements  nationally.

Since 1981, the Craft Marketing Program's mission is to develop the state's craft industry, support and empower Kentucky artisans and craftspeople, create an economically viable environment for craft entrepreneurs, preserve the state's craft traditions, stimulate and support product development, and generate public awareness, public support and public/private partnerships.

 The craft industry in Kentucky contributes $252 million in annual sales and Kentucky is recognized as a model state for its craft programs and its role in the $14 billion national craft industry.
