Chief Justice Minton to give State of the Judiciary address before Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013
FRANKFORT, Ky. -- Chief Justice of Kentucky John D. Minton Jr. is scheduled to present the 2013 State of the Judiciary address before the General Assembly’s Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary on Thursday, Jan. 31. The meeting will take place at 1 p.m. EST in Room 171 of the Capitol Annex in Frankfort. The meeting is open to the public and media.
Chief Justice Minton will discuss the Judicial Branch budget, recent accomplishments and challenges facing the state court system.
The chief justice is the administrative head of the state court system and is responsible for overseeing its operation. Chief Justice Minton was elected to the Supreme Court in 2006. His fellow justices elected him to serve a four-year term as chief justice in 2008 and re-elected him for a second term in 2012.
