Wednesday, July 11, 2007 The Kentucky Arts Council recently awarded $1,197,145 in matching General Operating Support grants to enrich arts and cultural life across the Commonwealth. The Arts Council approved panel recommendations for operational support funding for 70 non-profit organizations, based in 29 different counties, whose primary purpose is to provide arts opportunities for Kentuckians.

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 Kentucky Crafted: The Market 2007 celebrated its 25th anniversary March 1 - 4, at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center, South Wing B, Louisville, Kentucky and featured 283 exhibitors of craft, 2-D art, food, books and recorded music.
Based on post market surveys, exhibitors reported that overall wholesale and retail sales were up an estimated 20% over2006; the best since 2001, despite a slight reduction in attendance.

Before the independent panel of out-of-state jurors reviews the work, the public, along with arts consultants, artist representatives, curators and gallery owners, will have the opportunity to view projected digital images of the work by each of the 124 visual arts applicants.
