Arts Council Chairman Selected to Chair Southern Arts Federation
FRANKFORT, Ky.— Todd Lowe, the chairman of the Kentucky Arts Council (the state arts agency) governing board, has been selected as chairman of Southern Arts Federation. Based in Atlanta, the Southern Arts Federation is a not-for-profit regional arts organization which creates partnerships and collaborations; assists in the professional development of artists, arts organizations and arts professionals; presents, promotes and produces Southern arts and cultural programming; and advocates for the arts and arts education. The organization works in partnership with the nine state arts agencies of Kentucky, Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Lowe is president and founder of Parthenon LLC, and also serves as chair of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute’s Presidents Council, representing 137 global member societies of the Institute to the Board of Governors and staff. His involvement in the arts includes serving as chairman of the Kentucky Arts Council, past president of the Partnership for Creative Economies in Metro Louisville, and as a board member (past president) of Actors Theatre of Louisville, for which he also chaired the Next Generation of Excellence Endowment and Capital Campaign ($13.5 million raised, $12 million goal). He is a Governor of the Speed Museum and is serving on the steering committee for the Museum’s capital and endowment campaign. He also serves as a member of the board and executive committee of Louisville Metro’s Downtown Development Corporation.
The Kentucky Arts Council is a state agency in the Commerce Cabinet that creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
