Kentucky Arts Council comes to Maysville
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Arts Council welcomes the residents of Maysville and the surrounding area for an afternoon reception from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. EDT, Friday, June 25, 2010, at the Washington Opera House Ballroom, 116 W. Second St., Maysville, Ky.
The reception is an opportunity for artists, representatives from arts organizations, educators, community leaders and interested citizens to meet board and staff members of the Kentucky Arts Council and for the arts council to learn about arts activities, tourism and economic development and arts education programs in the region.
The reception follows the quarterly meeting of the governing board of directors of the Kentucky Arts Council, which is scheduled for noon – 3:30 p.m. Both the reception and the meeting are open to the public.

McCorvey, vice chair, Lexington; Sonya Baker, Murray; Wilma Brown, Danville; Zev Buffman, Owensboro; Paul Fourshee, Cadiz; Ronald Johnson, Ft. Mitchell; Henrietta Kemp, Hopkinsville; Nicholas Kouns, Lexington; Ed Lane, Lexington; Josephine Richardson, Whitesburg; Andrea Rudloff, Bowling Green; Ann Duggins Schell, Louisville; Randall C. Vaughn, Lexington; James R. Voyles, Louisville; and Jayne Moore Waldrop, Lexington.
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
