Kentucky Arts Council forms Arts Education Advisory Committee
FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Kentucky Arts Council has established an Arts Education Advisory Committee to assess Kentucky's current arts education landscape and develop strategies to foster and build support for arts education in Kentucky.
“I feel confident this committee will make things happen,” said Lori Meadows, executive director for the arts council. “We have a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about the inclusion of the arts in the educational experiences of our children. They have the vision to see the payoff for Kentucky's future.”
The committee will convene on a quarterly basis and is composed of leaders in the fields of arts, education and arts education.
Committee members are:
- Sonya Baker, Murray
- Lindy Casebier, Frankfort
- Dorie Combs, Richmond
- Everett McCorvey, Lexington
- Lori Meadows, Frankfort
- Helen Mountjoy, Owensboro
- Stu Silberman, Lexington
The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, creates opportunities for Kentuckians to value, participate in and benefit from the arts. Kentucky Arts Council funding is provided by the Kentucky General Assembly and the National Endowment for the Arts.
