FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky Arts Council will join the Lexington Art League in presenting a free workshop for artists, focusing on preparing online applications and digital images of artwork. The workshop will be from 1 - 4 p.m., Sat., Jan. 22, 2011, at Lexington Art League Loudoun House, 209 Castlewood Drive, Lexington, Ky.

The workshop will include four presentations, with sections devoted to specific instructions on how to navigate Kentucky Arts Services OnLine (KASOL), the web-based system used by the Kentucky Arts Council, and ZAPPlication, the system used by the Lexington Art League and many arts groups nationwide. Artists will also receive information regarding exhibition opportunities at the art league and a step-by-step guide to applying to the arts council’s Al Smith Individual Artist Fellowship and Kentucky Crafted programs. Each presentation will be followed by a question and answer period. The workshop ends with a work sample review. Artists who bring a CD of images will be given individual feedback on work presentation and tips for increasing their chances of being selected for exhibition and program opportunities.
