| The 2005 Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund (KADF) Annual Meeting will be held Thursday, January 20 at the Lexington Convention Center in downtown Lexington. The KADF Annual Meeting is designed to foster a greater awareness of the agricultural development process and the policies and programs of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. Registration for the event starts at 8:00 am EST and opening remarks with Keith Rogers, Executive Director of the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy (GOAP) will begin at 9:00 am EST. The morning session will include a Phase II update, KADF program updates, KADF policies, and a question and answer session with the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board. The afternoon session focus on program administration, project development, and leadership. The meeting will close with a complete update on the Tobacco Buyout from Jeff Hall, Executive Director of the Kentucky Farm Service Agency. At the 2005 Awards Luncheon the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board will recognize the outstanding contributions of individuals and organizations to the diversification of Kentucky's agricultural economy and to this historic effort. The Kentucky Opportunity Marketplace trade show will once again highlight projects funded through the Agricultural Development Fund, including Kentucky Proud products ranging from Green River Cattle Company beef to McDowell Farms salsa. The trade show will also showcase a variety of government and non-government organizations providing assistance to Kentucky’s agriculture community. Exhibits will be open from 8:00 am to 11:30 EST and 12:45 pm to 4:30 pm EST. County Council members, County Extension Agents, Program Administrators, and others interested in the future of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund are encouraged to attend the annual meeting. Sessions will focus on program administration, project development, and leadership. Registration is $30 per person.
