Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Traffic Stop Results in a $10,000 Drug Seizure

Pike County Drug Seizure Picture(Pikeville, KY) Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement (KVE) Officers recently made a traffic stop on U.S. 23 in Pike County which led to the confiscation of 205 oxycontin tablets with a street value of $10,550 dollars.

KVE Officers Keith Justice and Kevin Belcher stopped Jason Bartley and his passenger William Wyatt of Elkhorn City, KY for a traffic infraction. Upon a further investigation, KVE Officers found 205 oxycontin tablets in a concealed compartment in the vehicle.

Both men were charged with Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st and Possession of a controlled substance 1st.

"Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement is committed to enforcing Kentucky’s drug laws," said KVE Commissioner Greg Howard. "Our officers are highly trained experts in all areas of law enforcement, an even more so in areas like this - stopping the drug traffic through our state."

Both men were lodged in the Pike Co. detention facility
