Randy Overstreet Serving Last Term on KRS Board of Trustees
The next KRS Board of Trustees meeting will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015. That meeting will be the last for board member Randy Overstreet, who, at that time, will have continuously served on the KRS Board of Trustees for 20 years. Randy has served the maximum number of terms allowed under State law. Randy was first elected by the members of the State Police Retirement System in early 1995 and began serving his first four year term on the Board April 1 of that year. He was subsequently re-elected for four additional four year terms.
Randy retired from the Kentucky State Police in 1999 with a rank of Captain after a 26 year career at that agency. He subsequently worked for the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control as an Investigator Supervisor. He retired from that position in July 2013.
During his tenure on the KRS Board, Randy served as the Board Chair from 1997 until 2011 and held that position again during the 2013-2014 Board year. He also served on numerous Board committees during his 20 years of service on the Board.
Randy has always provided exemplary leadership to his fellow Board members and to KRS staff. Moreover, Randy has always carried out his duties on the Board in a professional and judicious manner in with the best interests of the KRS members in mind. As Randy departs from the Board, we want to express our sincerest thanks and appreciation to him for his long, distinguished and dedicated service to the Commonwealth of Kentucky, the Kentucky Retirement Systems, and its members. We will greatly miss Randy’s invaluable contributions to the Board and wish him the very best.
