Newton joins KHEAA as outreach counselor

Jo Newton has joined the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA) as the outreach counselor for nine counties in west central Kentucky.

“After working in higher education for nearly eight years, I am very excited to be a part of the KHEAA team,” Newton said. “I am a strong advocate for higher education and look forward to sharing all that KHEAA has to offer with the students and parents in my area.”

Her area encompasses Anderson, Boyle, Hardin, LaRue, Marion, Meade, Mercer, Nelson and Washington counties.

Newton is a graduate of Anderson County High School and Eastern Kentucky University. She has a master’s degree in education from Lindsey Wilson College and is a National Board certified counselor. Newton and her husband, Aaron, live in Lawrenceburg.
