Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority
Individual Learning Plans
Home school, private school and adult students in Kentucky will soon be able to take advantage of the state’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) system. Access will be provided by the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA), which administers the state’s student financial aid programs.
Public school students in grades 6-12 use ILPs to explore careers and plan their classes to prepare for college and future careers. The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) began using ILPs in the 2006-2007 school year. KDE worked with KHEAA on the expansion of ILPs to non-public school students.
KHEAA plans to have the expanded ILP available in mid-February.
To access the ILP, students must register for a Zip Access account on www.kheaa.com, then click on the link to their ILP. After answering a few questions, they will receive a confirmation. Clicking on the confirmation will take them to Career Cruising. Students who are in public schools will be advised to go to the web address provided by their school.
Career Cruising is the company that provides ILPs to public schools in Kentucky and is KHEAA’s partner in extending that service to home school, private school and adult students.
