On Saturday, February 14, Jeffrey W. Hart will demonstrate how he creates his wire wrapped jewelry using semi-precious stones from 10:30 – 3:30 at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea.

Jeffrey W. Hart moved to Kentucky in 2002 from Phoenix, AZ for quiet town living. His interest in jewelry began at an early age when he watched his aunt, a professional jeweler, at work creating jewelry. He began as a young boy to learn jewelry making skills, and practiced in the evenings to learn how to cut, file, shape and solder his jewelry, even learning how to polish stones. He eventually created a line of jewelry and had a small successful business as a teenager selling at a craft market in Portland, Oregon.

Now after other careers and with his children out on their own, Jeffrey has returned to his jewelry making career. He loves finding new gems that many have never seen before, or cabochons that are unique. He designs mountings by wrapping sterling wire around the stones to show off their unique qualities.

Works by Jeffrey W. Hart are regularly available at the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea, located at 975 Walnut Meadow Road, just off Interstate 75 at exit 77 (Berea). The Center’s exhibits, shopping, and travel information areas are all open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the café from 8 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Admission is free. The Center currently features works by more than 650 artisans from 100 counties across the Commonwealth.
