Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea Among Top 10 Stops in Carguide Magazine
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is listed as # 4 of 10 “not to be missed” stops along I -75 in Carguide magazine’s article titled, “Head to the Hot Sun on I -75: Top Ten Places to see on Your Drive to Florida.”
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea offers travelers in-depth travel assistance and information such as road conditions, most direct routes, current maps, locations for lodging and accommodations, as well as brochures and information on a multitude of destinations and cultural sites throughout Kentucky. Center staff also inform visitors about events of interest along their proposed travel routes, and the Center provides what have been called the “cleanest and best designed” restrooms on I -75. And to the surprise of many first-time visitors stopping for a “travelers’ center,” the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea offers travelers a wide array of Kentucky made crafts, art, music, books and food products created by more than 650 artisan vendors.
According to Center Executive Director Victoria Faoro, “Everyone involved with the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea works daily to ensure every visitor is provided a quality experience—a great building and a great introduction to an extensive range of quality artisan products and the cultural heritage experiences available in Kentucky, along with exceptional travel services.”
Carguide Magazine has been offering information relevant to the Canadian motorist for more than 35 years giving readers entertaining automotive information, news, events, and reviews. The magazine’s recent article was written by Dave Hunter, author of the popular publication Along Interstate I-75, which targets the population of travelers referred to as “snow birds” who make the yearly trek from Canada to Florida. The book is used extensively by motorists in planning stops, destinations and overnight stays when heading south and returning north. The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located at 975 Walnut Meadow Road, just off Interstate 75 at exit 77 (Berea). The Center’s exhibits, shopping and travel information areas are all open daily from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and the café is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free.
