At 81, see how the unconditional love of dogs keeps one southern sportsman young on “Kentucky Afield” television this weekend, Feb. 13 and 14.

Rabbit season ended in January in Pulaski County, but Bob Hughes and his beagles are already keeping in shape for next fall. Smile along with us as our guest finds more joy in running his prize dogs than he does in a big box of chocolates. Grandson Levi Evans also joins “Kentucky Afield” television host Tim Farmer for the fun.

Meanwhile, in Hardin County, we turn eyes to the sky as wildlife biologist Erin Harper shares Kentucky’s role in the migration of sandhill cranes. Now making their northward trek from wintering grounds in Georgia and Florida, the Bluegrass is a favorite place to rest and refuel.
