Kentucky Commission on Human Rights January 09 Rulings
LOUISVILLE – The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights Board of Commissioners in its meeting today ruled to dismiss 19 discrimination complaints with findings of no probable cause. The board accepted six discrimination case withdrawals with private settlements and three withdrawals without settlements, but with a right to file private suits.
The commission also released a new brochure that explains people’s rights to equal opportunity in employment under the Kentucky Civil Rights Act and national laws. The Kentucky Commission on Human Rights is the state government agency that enforces the Kentucky Civil Rights Act and federal civil rights laws, all of which make discrimination illegal.
