Historical Society Offers Cemetery Workshop

The Kentucky Historical Society, Historical Confederation of Kentucky (HCK), and Lexington Public Library will present a cemetery workshop on Saturday, September 17 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Northside Branch Library, 1737 Russell Cave Road.

 

Morning presentations will focus on topics including legal issues, restoration and research.  In the afternoon, participants will travel to African Cemetery No.2 for a hands-on stone cleaning exercise. Advance registration is required as seating is limited; fee is $25 ($20 HCK members) and includes lunch and all materials.  Deadline to register is Wednesday, September 14.  Call 502-564-1792, ext. 4404 or email anng.johnson@ky.gov.
