Kentucky Historical Society History Campus Returns to High Season Schedule

FRANKFORT, Ky. (March 16, 2015) – The Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) history campus will return to high-season public hours starting Tuesday, March 17.


The Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History and the Old State Capitol will be open Tuesday through Saturday. For specific sites and hours, see full schedule below. The Kentucky Military History Museum at the State Arsenal remains closed due to the effects of winter weather and is scheduled to reopen March 21.


High-Season Schedule:


-       Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, 100 W. Broadway, first floor exhibitions and 1792 Store

Tuesday - Saturday: 10 a.m.-5 p.m., with extended hours each Thursday until 8 p.m.


-       Martin F. Schmidt Research Library, second floor, Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History

Tuesday: Open only to groups by appointment. All other days follow the main Thomas D. Clark Center schedule.


-       Old State Capitol

Tuesday-Saturday tours: 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. All tours start at the Thomas D. Clark Center.


-       Kentucky Military History Museum, State Arsenal, 125 W. Main St.

The site will reopen March 21. On reopening, its schedule will be Tuesday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m.


The Martin F. Schmidt Research Library was open only to groups by appointment from mid-December through mid-March while staff cataloged several document and photographic collections numbering thousands of pieces.
