FRANKFORT, Ky. (July 30, 2009) – The Kentucky Historical Society’s (KHS) signature exhibition, “A Kentucky Journey,” has been reopened to the public. The Antebellum section of the exhibition remains closed for repairs.

Visitors to the KHS history campus have the opportunity to explore all KHS exhibitions, including “A Kentucky Journey,” “Made to be Played: Traditional Art of Kentucky Luthiers” and “Great Revivals: Kentucky Decorative Arts Treasures,” as well as enjoy guided tours of the Old State Capitol.

“We are delighted that we were able to reopen “A Kentucky Journey” so quickly,” said Kent Whitworth, executive director of KHS. “The temporary closing of the exhibition’s Antebellum section will allow us to complete several necessary repairs.”

The KHS history campus includes the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History, the Old State Capitol and the Kentucky Military History Museum at the Old State Arsenal. The Arsenal remains closed for renovations.  Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission prices are $4 for adults and $2 for youth ages six to 18. KHS members and children five and under receive free admission.
