Food For Thought Program to Focus on Kentucky Painters
FRANKFORT, Ky. (Nov. 30, 2009)— Estill Curtis Pennington, art historian and guest Kentucky Historical Society (KHS) curator, will discuss Kentucky painters at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 9 at the Thomas D. Clark Center for Kentucky History in Frankfort.
During the luncheon, Pennington will discuss his new book, “Kentucky: The Master Painters from the Frontier Era to the Great Depression.”
Pennington holds a B.A. from the University of Kentucky, an M.A. from the University of Georgia and a Ph.D. from George Washington University. For the past 30 years he has actively studied painting in the South. Recently, Pennington served as guest curator of “Great Revivals: Kentucky Decorative ArtsTreasures,” a KHS exhibition currently on display at the Old State Capitol.

The KHS Highlighting History series includes History Speaks! and Food for Thought, and offers guests an opportunity to explore a wide variety of historical topics.
