| Frankfort, KY (February 16, 2004) – The Kentucky Military History Museum will be closed to the public through Tuesday, February 24, 2004. The museum will be temporarily closed due to electrical and lighting improvements to the building.
Located at 125 East Main Street in downtown Frankfort, the museum is operated by the Kentucky Department of Military Affairs and the Kentucky Historical Society. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Civil War Trust Discover Trail, it offers visitors a unique look into the state’s military past. “The building is history itself,” says Bill Bright, curator. “It’s home to many precious and hard-to-find items that relate to Kentucky’s military history.”
Normal operating hours are Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Guided tours are available on weekends with reservations.
