FRANKFORT, Ky. – “With this being the last revenue report before I leave office, I’m thrilled October’s General Fund receipts grew 6.1 percent compared to this time last year. Even more compelling is the 4.9 percent growth for the first four months of the fiscal year. Revenue growth is being led by individual income and sales taxes, indicating that salaries and jobs are on the rise and consumer confidence is high. It also shows that our strategic vision to attract economic development, improve health, ensure strong fiscal management of the state’s budget, and collaborate among the public and private sectors across geographic boundaries the last 8 years was the right path for Kentucky. Our economy continues to improve. I’m hopeful that lawmakers and our emerging leaders will continue this momentum.”
