Gov. Beshear Announces ‘Day One’ of Medicaid Managed Care in Kentucky
FRANKFORT, Ky.– “As of today, managed care for more than half a million Kentucky Medicaid recipients is a reality. This shift will save taxpayers $1.3 billion over the next three years, while at the same time making health care more efficient for the families who depend on it. As I promised earlier this year, we pursued a very aggressive timetable for the transition. We demanded swift action and cost savings from the new contractors, and worked with medical providers to make sure patients would continue to receive excellent health care. Our efforts will pay off not only for Medicaid recipients, but also for Kentucky taxpayers.”
