Pictures of Governor Beshear’s Troops Visit Now Available on Flickr
FRANKFORT, Ky.– Governor Beshear’s office today announced that some pictures of the Governor’s recent trip visiting troops overseas are now available to view on the Governor’s Flickr site at http://www.flickr.com/photos/govbeshear/sets/72157627238443679/.
Governor Beshear departed for a five day trip to the Middle East war zones last Monday, visiting troops in Iraq, Kuwait and Afghanistan. The Governor’s trip was part of a special Department of Defense trip for selected governors and marks the first time a sitting Kentucky governor has visited active war zones.
“It was a true honor and privilege last week to meet with our soldiers serving overseas,” said Gov. Beshear. “It was an eye-opening experience that I wish everyone had the opportunity to take part in. Let’s continue to keep these servicemen, women and their families in our thoughts and prayers as we hope for their safe return home.”
The majority of photographs on the Flickr site were made available by 210th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment in Bahgram, Afghanistan. Other pictures were provided by U.S. Air Force. More photos will be added to the Flickr site as they become available.
None of the photographs were at cost to the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
