Governor Beshear's Statement Regarding Medicaid Managed Care
FRANKFORT, Ky. — "Balancing the Medicaid budget was the most significant issue dealt with this year by the General Assembly. We proposed expanding managed care principles in the Medicaid program to improve health outcomes for citizens and control costs, in an effort to keep from making cuts to other priorities such as education, public safety, and job creation efforts. The Cabinet for Health and Family Services is in the final stages of evaluations with potential managed care organizations, and we expect to make an announcement on our efforts to balance the Medicaid budget next week."
