Governor Beshear’s statement on House passage of Graduation Bill
FRANKFORT, Ky.-- “For the third time, the House has passed the graduation bill with overwhelming bipartisan support. These legislators understand the importance of putting our children first, and I commend them for their repeated and strong commitment to Kentucky’s future.
When students drop out, they tend to earn thousands of dollars less annually than high school graduates, and tend to rely on more social services. This bill will not only help students thrive, but it will also help build a better educated workforce. It is time for the Senate to give this bill a fair hearing, and an up or down vote.”
