Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Feb. 24
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Spc. Sean R. Cutsforth, 22, of Radford, Va., died Dec. 15 at Ghazni Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit using small arms fire. He was assigned to 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Funeral services for Spc. Cutsforth will be held on Feb. 24 at 9 a.m. Eastern time at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
