Governor Beshear makes appointments to Boards and Commissions
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed Terry Lee Tucker to the Kentucky Commission on Military Affairs to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 16, 2012.
- Terry Lee Tucker, of Elizabethtown, is retired military. He represents members at-large. The appointment replaces Col. Donald W. Williams, who has resigned.
The governor has designated Col. Mark D. Needman as chair of the commission.
- Mark D. Needham, of Frankfort, is special assistant to Gov. Beshear.
Gov. Beshear has appointed John Coyle to the Kentucky Law Enforcement Council to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 1, 2011.
- John Coyle, of Versailles, is the Woodford County Judge/Executive. He represents county judge/executives.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Darrell Wayne Billings to the Big Sandy Community and Technical College Nominating Commission to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2014.
- Darrell Wayne Billings, of Clay City, is the owner of Tanner Chrysler Products. The appointment replaces Barbara Burchett Pugh, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the Rheagan L. Redmond to the Southeast Community and Technical College Nominating Commission to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2014.
- Rheagan L. Redmond, of Pineville, is a teacher. The appointment replaces Pauletta P. Breeding, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services to serve for terms expiring Sept. 19, 2014:
- James C. Duke, of Beaver Dam, is the owner of Com-Care Inc. He represents advanced life support government operated ambulance service administrators. The appointment replaces Kathy Hines, whose term has expired.
- Michael E. Gribbin, of Lexington, is an assistant fire chief with Lexington Fire & Emergency Sevices. He represents fire-service based licensed Class I ground ambulance service administrators. The appointment replaces John W. Martin, whose term has expired.
- Michael E. Poynter, of Lexington, is the chief executive officer of Straight Edge Dynamics. He represents paramedics. The appointment replaces James C. Duke, whose term has expired.
- Joe Bradshaw, of Barbourville, is a program director with Air-Evac Life Team. He represents licensed air ambulance service administrators or paramedics for a licensed air ambulance headquartered in Kentucky. The appointment replaces Michael E. Poynter, whose term has expired.
- Joseph A. Iocono, of Lexington, is pediatric surgeon at the University of Kentucky. He represents physicians who are routinely involved in the emergency care of ill and injured children.
The governor has reappointed Terry L. Dossett to the board to serve for a term expiring Sept. 19, 2014.
- Terry L. Dossett, of Sacramento, is the director of operations for Procarent. He represents private licensed Class I ground ambulance service administrators who are certified emergency medical technicians or licensed paramedics.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jeff Smithern to the Board of Respiratory Care to serve for a term expiring Oct. 31, 2013.
- Jeff Smithern, of Mt. Vernon, is the director of respiratory care at Rockcastle Regional Hospital. He represents respiratory care providers. The appointment replaces James P. Bronson Jr., whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed Jeff W. Knight to the board to serve for a term expiring Oct. 31, 2013.
- Jeff W. Knight, of Louisville, is the chief executive officer of Premier Home Care.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Jon A. Lawson to the State Investment Commission to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.
- Jon A. Lawson, of Hartford, is a banker with the Bank of Ohio County. He represents the Bluegrass Bankers Association. The appointment replaces Carolyn Elizabeth Flynn, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed George B. Spragens to the commission to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.
- George B. Spragens, of Lebanon, is a banker with Farmers National Bank. He represents the Kentucky Bankers Association.
