Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Nov. 5
FRANKFORT, Ky.– Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Friday, Nov. 5, 2010 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. 1st Class Phillip C. Tanner, 43, of Sheridan, Wyo., died Oct. 26 at Ali Al Salem, Kuwait, of injuries sustained in a non-combat incident. He was assigned to the 106th Transportation Battalion, 101st Sustainment Brigade, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Funeral services for Sgt. 1st Class Tanner will be held Nov. 5 at 6 p.m. Central time at McReynolds-Nave and Larson Funeral Home in Clarksville, Tenn. Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that day.
