Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on Sept. 9
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010 in honor of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. James C. Robinson, 27, of Lebanon, Ohio, died Aug. 28 at Paktika, Afghanistan, when insurgents attacked his unit with indirect fire. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 187th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.
Funeral services for Sgt. Robinson will be held on Sept. 9 at 10 a.m. Eastern time at Old Monroe High School in Monroe, Ohio. Burial services will immediately follow at Springboro Cemetery in Springboro, Ohio. Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset that day.
