Governor Beshear makes appointments to Boards and Commissions
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed the J. Michael McCann to the Ashland Community and Technical College Nominating Commission to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2013.
- J. Michael McCann, of Ashland, is an accountant with Bulk Plants Inc. The appointment replaces Donna R. Miller, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed Kathleen Timmons Setterman to the commission to serve for a term expiring April 15, 2014.
- Kathleen Timmons Setterman, of Ashland, is executive director of Paramount Arts Center.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Dewey F. Crawford to the Central Midwest Interstate Low-Level Radioactive Waste Commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending March 31, 2011.
- Dewey F. Crawford, of Louisville, is manger of the Cabinet for Health and Family Services’ radiation health branch. The appointment replaces Edward Sinclair Ford Jr., who is deceased.
Gov. Beshear has appointed Richard L. Meadows Jr. as County Commissioner for the 3rd District in Fayette County to serve until the next general election on Nov. 2, 2010.
- Richard L. Meadows Jr., of Lexington, is a professor at Berea College. He replaces Dale Edinger, who has resigned.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Wireless Interoperability Executive Committee to serve for terms expiring July 22, 2011:
- Bob Hammonds, of Versailles, is director of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services. He represents local emergency medical services. The appointment replaces Charles M. O’Neal, whose term has expired.
- Michael E. Gribbin, of Lexington, is an assistant fire chief with Lexington Fire & Emergency Services. He represents the Kentucky Association of Fire Chiefs. The appointment replaces Terrence L. Lewis, whose term has expired.
- Ted Collins, of Frankfort, is the Franklin County Judge/Executive. He represents the Kentucky Association of Counties. The appointment replaces Steve L. Cornish, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed the following members of the committee to serve for terms expiring July 22, 2011:
- Stephen B. “Mitch” Mitchell, of Louisville, is the 911 system coordinator for Louisville Metro Government. He represents the Kentucky Chapter of the National Emergency Numbers Association.
- Pamela A. Collins, of Lexington, is a professor at Eastern Kentucky University. She represents the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education.
- Thomas Wayne Wright, of Versailles, is sheriff of Woodford County. He represents the Kentucky Sheriffs’ Association.
- Rebecca A. Hopkins, of Covington, is the IT director for the city of Erlanger. He represents the Kentucky League of Cities.
- John Michael Ward II, of Alexandria, is chief of police for the city of Alexandria. He represents the Kentucky Association of Chiefs of Police.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Heritage Council to serve for terms expiring Aug. 6, 2014:
- Norma G. Rapier, of Bardstown, is a real estate broker with Demarce & Hubbard Realty. The appointment replaces Carol B. Armstrong, whose term has expired.
- Kathleen M. Smith, of Louisville, is an administrator at the University of Louisville. The appointment replaces Jerry T. Miller, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring Aug. 6, 2014:
- Brenda P. McClanahan, of Lexington, is a retired interior designer and project manager.
- Betsy R. Kuster, of Paris, is a self-employed farmer.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education to serve for terms expiring July 16, 2014:
- James D. Nickell, of Clearfield, is the Rowan County Judge/Executive. He represents county judge/executives. The appointment replaces Rob Rothenburger, whose term has expired.
- John W. Heltzel, of Lawrenceburg, is director of the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management. He represents the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management. The appointment replaces Maxwell C. Bailey, whose term has expired.
- Walter J. Lage, of Louisville, is fire chief of Anchorage Fire Department and Emergency Management Systems. He represents fire chiefs of paid fire departments. The appointment replaces Bobby R. Bunnell, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring July 16, 2014:
- William H. Lilly, of Harrodsburg, is a self-employed private fire investigator. He represents the general public.
- Charles D. Goldsmith, of Louisville, is fire chief of the Highview Fire Department. He represents fire chiefs of volunteer fire departments.
- Gregory Alan Lowe, of Cecilia, is the executive officer of Hardin County Sheriffs’ office. He represents fire chiefs of volunteer fire departments.
Gov. Beshear has appointed William E. Pinkston to the Kentucky Sports Authority to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Jan. 4, 2013.
- William E. Pinkston, of Paducah, is an attorney with Denton & Keuler. He represents the fish & wildlife community at-large. The appointment replaces William L. Schroeder, who has resigned.
