FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Forestry Best Management Practices Board:

  • Christopher M. Terry, of Morehead, is the president and owner of Terry Logging Inc. He represents loggers in good standing. The appointment replaces Robert D. Dunning, whose term has expired. Terry shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2011.
     
  • Grant A. Curry, of Jackson, is the wood procurement manager at Weyerhaeuser. He represents the Kentucky Wood Industry. The appointment replaces Robert J. Bauer, whose term has expired. Curry shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2011.
     
  • Sara J. H. Johns, of Shelbyville, is a forest ranger technician for the Kentucky Division of Forestry. She represents the Division of Forestry. The appointment replaces Leah W. MacSwords, whose term has expired. Johns shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2011.
     
  • John Kevin Tudor, of Mount Sterling, is a forester for Domtar Paper Co. He represents the Kentucky Wood Industry. The appointment replaces Paul E. Cummins, whose term has expired. Tudor shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2012.
     
  • Keith Tarter, of Dunnville, is corporate manager for Tarter Gate. He represents the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. The appointment replaces Anthony Hacker, whose term has expired. Tarter shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2012.
     
  • Peter T. McNeill, of Flemingsburg, is a retired farmer. He represents farmers at large. The appointment replaces Peggy F. Conway, whose term has expired. McNeill shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2013.
     
  • Carroll B. Amyx, of Campton, is self-employed farmer and retired teacher. He represents the Kentucky Farm Bureau. The appointment replaces Kevin Lyons, whose term has expired. Amyx shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2014.
     
  • John W. Reinstetle, of Whitesburg, is operations manager and forester for Powell River Lumber Company. He represents at-large woodland owners. The appointment replaces Dave Watson, whose term has expired. Reinstetle shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2014.

The governor has reappointed the following as members of the board:

  • George L. Crawford, of Crab Orchard, is a farmer and buyer for Somerset Wood Products. He represents at-large woodland owners. Crawford shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2011.
     
  • John T. Perry, of Paint Lick, is a forester for Berea College. He represents Kentucky Woodland Owners Association. Perry shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2012.
     
  • Ken Negray, of Princeton, is a forester for NewPage. He represents the Kentucky Wood Industry. Negray shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2013.
     
  • Bige Hensley, of Manchester, is a self-employed farmer. He represents farmers at large. Hensley shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2013.
     
  • Jeffrey W. Stringer, of Lexington, is a professor at the University of Kentucky. He represents the University of Kentucky Department of Forestry. Stringer shall serve for a term expiring April 22, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Emergency Response Commission to serve for terms expiring April 17, 2012:

  • Kathy Lynn Fowler, of Taylorsville, is the assistant director of Public Health and Public Services in the Kentucky Cabinet of Health and Family Services. She represents health services. The appointment replaces Katheryn H. Cook, whose term has expired.
     
  • Timothy A. Conley, of Elkfork, is the Morgan County Judge/Executive. He represents local government. The appointment replaces Kevin Thomas Williams, whose term has expired.
     
  • David Guy, of Louisville, is the director of System Restoration and Dispatch for EON-US. He represents persons with technical expertise in the emergency response field. The appointment replaces Robert Lloyd Scott, whose term ahs expired.
     
  • Henry W. Bertram, of Falmouth, is the Pendleton County Judge/Executive. He represents local government. The appointment replaces Mike Withrow, whose term has expired.
     
  • Larry Joe Baer II, of Ashland, is a firefighter for the city of Ashland. He represents fire fighters. The appointment replaces Daniel Keith Castle, whose term has expired.
     
  • Stacy A. McDonald, of Frankfort, works in corporate security and fire services for Toyota. She represents business and industry. The appointment replaces Eugene E. Shaw, whose term has expired.
     
  • Douglas K. Tackett, of Pikeville, is the director of emergency management for Pike County Fiscal Court. He represents Kentucky Emergency Management Association. The appointment replaces Charlie V. Frazee, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following as members of the commission to serve for terms expiring April 17, 2012:

  • Richard Kenneth Payne, of Owensboro, is the director of emergency management for Daviess County Fiscal Court. He represents local government.
     
  • Rob Rothenburger, of Shelbyville, is the Shelby County Judge/Executive. He represents local government.
     
  • Ronnie L. Day, of Morehead, is the executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education. He represents the Kentucky Commission on Fire Protection Personnel Standards and Education.
     
  • Norman Jerome Mansfield, of Paducah, is an emergency management analyst for the U.S. Enrichment Corp. He represents business and industry.
     
  • Lt. Col. Michael R. Sapp, of Columbia, is the director of the Operations Division for the Kentucky State Police. He represents Kentucky State Police.
     
  • William W. Swope, of Lexington, is the State Fire Marshal. He represents the State Fire Marshal.
     
  • Carl L. Hamblin Jr., of Calvert City, is a safety and environmental engineer for ATOFINA Chemicals Inc. He represents business and industry.
     
  • William C. Burger II, of Frankfort, is an assistant to Lt. Gov. Daniel Mongiardo. He represents the Lieutenant Governor’s Office.
     
  • Leonard Wayne Shepperson Sr., of Danville, is the director of emergency management for Boyle Co. Fiscal Court. He represents local government.
     
  • Ryan M. Halloran, of Frankfort, is an attorney in the Attorney General’s Office. He represents the Attorney General’s Office.
     
  • David A. Hall, of Louisville, is resident vice president of State Relations for CSX Corporation. He represents business and industry.
     
  • General John Heltzel, of Lawrenceburg, is the director of the Kentucky of Division Emergency Management for the Kentucky Office of Military Affairs. He represents Emergency Management.
     
  • Mitchell J. Bailey, of Campbellsville, is Lt. Colonel of the Kentucky State Police. He represents vehicle enforcement.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Franklin S. Kling Jr. as a member of the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2013.

  • Franklin S. Kling Jr., of Villa Hills, is president of F.K. Holdings Inc. The appointment replaces Thomas B. Gaines, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring July 1, 2013:

  • Frank L. Jones Jr., of Louisville, is the chief executive officer of Recreonics Inc.
     
  • Burr J. Travis Jr., of Ft. Mitchell, is an attorney at Busald, Funk and Zevely.
     
  • Jerry Yon, of Lexington, is a physician in private practice.
     
  • Michael A. Pitino, of Louisville, is an investment banker with Alliance Group.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Early Intervention System Interagency Coordinating Council to serve for terms expiring April 20, 2011:

  • Leesa Smith Croley, of Munfordville, is a speech language pathologist.  She represents public/private providers.  The appointment replaces Judith P. Smith, whose term has expired.
     
  • Linda S. Comley, of Richmond, is an independent first steps provider.  She represents public/private providers.  The appointment replaces Dianna C. Grubb, whose term has expired.
     
  • Michelle P. Doty, of Richmond, is a family services coordinator. The appointment replaces Karen C. Ogle.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the council:

  • Alice Richter, of Fort Thomas, is a first steps contractor for primary evaluations and a developmental interventionist.  She represents public/private providers.  Richter shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2011.
     
  • Elizabeth A. Schumacher, of Louisville, is the co-director of the neonatal follow-up program at the University of Louisville Department of Pediatrics.  She represents public/private providers.  Schumacher shall serve for a term expiring April 20, 2013.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Housing, Buildings and Construction to serve for terms expiring July 13, 2013:

  • Gregory G. Carter, of Lexington, is an engineer with Staggs & Fisher Consulting Engineers Inc.  He represents electrical engineers.  The appointment replaces Charles O. Lewis, whose term has expired.
     
  • Greg J. Wilson, of Simpsonville, is an operations manager with Maeser Plumbing.  He represents the Kentucky Association of Plumbing Heating-Cooling Contractors.  The appointment replaces Alfred S. Mattingly, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring July 31, 2013:

  • David B. Jackson, of Richmond, is a contractor with Hacker Brothers Inc.  He represents the Kentucky Association of General Contractors. 
     
  • Bill Jagoe, of Owensboro, is a builder and developer with Jagoe Homes Inc.  He represents the Home Builders Association of Kentucky.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Institute for Aging:

  • Eugene H. Foster, of Louisville, is president of Maryhurst.  The appointment replaces Norman T. Owen, who has resigned.  Foster shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 1, 2011.
     
  • Tihisha M. Rawlins, of Shelbyville, is associate state director for AARP.  The appointment replaces Marlene B. Huff, who has resigned.  Rawlins shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 1, 2011.
     
  • Robert L. Sterrett, of Lexington, is retired.  Sterrett shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2012.
     
  • Jan M. Scherrer, of Versailles, is president of Kentuckians for Nursing Home Reform.  Scherrer shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2012. 
     
  • Gale G. W. Reece, of Lexington, is executive director of ITNBluegrass.  Reece shall serve for a term expiring Sept. 1, 2012.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Advisory Committee to serve for terms expiring Nov. 15, 2012:

  • Cletus S. Carvalho, of Lexington, is a psychiatrist at the University of Kentucky.  He represents psychiatrists.  The appointment replaces Allen J. Brenzel, whose term has expired.
     
  • Vaughn W. Payne, of Staffordsville, is a physician.  He represents family practice physicians.  The appointment replaces Truman Perry, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the committee to serve for terms expiring Nov. 15, 2012:

  • Kyle J. Childers, of Lexington, is a physician at the Lexington Clinic.  He represents pediatricians.
     
  • Nathan Wade Baker, of Whitesburg, is chief obstetrician/gynecologist at the Mountain Comprehensive Health Corp.  He represents obstetricians/gynecologists. 
     
  • Jim Litmer, of Edgewood, is a self-employed pharmacist.  He represents pharmacists.

Gov. Beshear has appointed William T. Kuster to the Motor Vehicle Commission to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2013.

  • William T. Kuster, of Brandenburg, is CATS testing grader for Kelly Services.  He represents consumers.  The appointment replaces Wayne J. Farris, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring July 1, 2013:

  • Larry J. Craig, of Louisville, is works for Craig and Landreth Inc.  He represents used motor vehicle dealers.
     
  • Debbie L. Robke, of Edgewood, is works for Robke Chevrolet.  He represents new motor vehicle dealers.
     
  • Sven Ekman, of Louisville, is retired.  He represents automobile manufacturers.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Benjamin Lee Kessinger III to the Colon Cancer Screening Advisory Committee to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.

  • Benjamin Lee Kessinger III, of Lexington, is an attorney with Kinkead & Stilz PLLC.  The appointment replaces Mark D. Hughes, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the Whitney Fox Jones, of Louisville, to the committee to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.

  • Whitney Fox Jones, of Louisville, is a physician and gastroenterologist with Midwest Gastro Associates.

Gov. Beshear has appointed John Cheshire III to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Dec. 31, 2013.

  • John Cheshire III, of Lexington, is an equity strategist and portfolio manager with Community Trust Investment Company.  The appointment replaces Barbara C. Holsinger, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Elbert E. Hagans to the Native-American Heritage Commission to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 1, 2012.

  • Elbert E. Hagans, of Bulan, works for the Hazard Community and Technical College.  The appointment replaces William H. Shackleford, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Joseph Albert “Jodie” Haydon to the Kentucky Lottery Corporation Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Nov. 28, 2013.

  • Joseph Albert “Jodie” Haydon, of Bardstown, is a contractor with Nally & Haydon.  The appointment replaces Mark R. Sommer, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Gail Darley to the Board of Respiratory Care to serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Oct. 31, 2012.

  • Gail Darley, of Louisville, is Augusta.  She represents citizens at-large.  The appointment replaces Richard A. Blackerby, who has resigned.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Robert W. Zapp to the Northern Kentucky Convention Center Corporation Board of Directors to serve for at term expiring July 14, 2014.

  • Robert W. Zapp, of Union, is president and chief executive officer of The Bank of Kentucky.  The appointment replaces Dan Fay, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Rose Marilyn Fenwick to the Commission on the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to serve for a term expiring July 1, 2013.

  • Rose Marilyn Fenwick, of Springfield, is retired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the commission to serve for terms expiring July 1, 2013:

  • Susan E. Brown, of Murray, is audiologist at Murray State University.  She represents the Kentucky Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
     
  • Nina S. Coyer, of Lancaster, is an associate professor at Eastern Kentucky University.  She represents the Kentucky Association of the Deaf Inc.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Juvenile Justice Advisory Board effective Sept. 16, 2010 to serve for terms expiring Sept. 15, 2014:

  • Saiyd Joyce, of Lexington, is a student at the University of Kentucky.  The appointment replaces Robin R. Bradley, whose term has expired.
     
  • Britt Mahan, of Shelbyville, is a student at Shelby County High School.  The appointment replaces Arshiya Saiyed, whose term has expired.

The governor has reappointed the following members to the board effective Sept. 16, 2010 to serve for terms expiring Sept. 15, 2014:

  • Kaye Jones Templin, of Owingsville, is the chief executive officer of Gateway Children’s Services.  She represents persons operating alternative detention programs.
     
  • Randall J. Hensley, of Paint Lick, is a sergeant at the city of Berea Police Department. He represents peace officers.
     
  • Rendell T. Butler, of Frankfort, is retired.  He represents private non-profit organizations with interest in juvenile justice services. 
     
  • Amy Hale Milliken, of Bowling Green, is the county attorney in Warren County.  She represents county attorneys.
     
  • Nancy K. Pfaadt, of Louisville, works for Synergy Enterprises Inc. and Eastern Kentucky University.  She represents youth advocates not associated with other groups.
     
  • Elizabeth Jenkins, of Nicholasville, is a nanny.  She represents youth under the age of 24.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Fish and Wildlife Resources Commission effective Aug. 14, 2010 to serve for terms expiring Aug. 13, 2014:

  • David M. Williams II, of Reynolds Station, is an agent with Kentucky Farm Bureau.  He represents the 2nd Wildlife District.  The appointment replaces Dale Franklin, whose term has expired.
     
  • Stuart N. Ray, of Louisville, is an executive at Steel Technologies.  He represents the 3rd Wildlife District.  The appointment replaces James A. Brown, whose term has expired. 
     
  • Norman J. Fryman, of Paris, is a banker at Kentucky Bank.  He represents the 8th Wildlife District.  The appointment replaces Rick D. Storm, whose term has expired.
