Governor Beshear Orders Flags to Half-staff on April 25

FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff on Sunday, April 25, 2010  in honor of a Kentucky Army National Guard soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Sgt. Randolph A. Sigley, 28, of Richmond, Ky., died April 18 in Bagram, Afghanistan. The circumstances surrounding his death are under investigation. He was assigned to the Kentucky Army National Guard's 2123rd Transportation Company, Richmond, Ky.

Burial services for Sgt. Sigley will be held April 25 at Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon, Ky. Gov. Beshear has directed that flags at all state office buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise until sunset that day.

Gov. Beshear encourages individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies to join in this tribute.
