Governor Asks Kentuckians to Join in Moment of Silence for West Virginia Miners
FRANKFORT, Ky. – “The horrific mine explosion in West Virginia weighs heavily on the hearts of all Kentuckians. We mourn for the loss of 29 miners and for the pain of their families and friends. Governor Joe Manchin of West Virginia has asked for all Americans to join him in a moment of silence this afternoon. I encourage all Kentuckians to pause at 3:30 p.m. EDT today to reflect and to pay respects to the miners, their families, and the communities forever altered by this tragedy. Their sacrifice will not be forgotten.”
