Governor Beshear makes appointments to Boards and Commissions
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority Board of Directors and the Kentucky Higher Education Student Loan Corporation Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2013. This order is effective July 16, 2009.
- Erica L. Horn, of Lexington, is an attorney with Stites & Harbison, PLLC. The appointment replaces Jerry T. Shroat, whose term has expired.
- Kristi P. Nelson, of Union, is an attorney with Pomeroy IT Solutions, Inc. The appointment replaces Daniel W. Stanfield, whose term has expired.
- Barbara Sexton Smith, of Louisville, is the executive vice president for the Fund for the Arts. The appointment replaces Ronald D. Butt, whose term has expired.
Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation Board of Directors to serve for terms expiring June 26, 2013.
- Peggy J. Peterson, of Lebanon, is the vice president for Peoples Bank in Lebanon. She represents commercial lending officers. The appointment replaces James T. Reams, whose term has expired.
- George R. Begley, of Richmond, is a self-employed farmer. He represents livestock farmers. The appointment replaces Charles L. Miller, whose term has expired.
- Kenneth H. Burdine, of Nicholasville, is an extension livestock economist at the University of Kentucky. He represents agricultural economists. The appointment replaces Annette Crawford Walters, whose term has expired.
The governor has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring June 26, 2013.
- Frank A. Penn, of Lexington, is the owner of Pennbrook Farm. He represents the equine industry.
- Larry B. Jaggers, of Glendale, is a self-employed dairy farmer. He represents dairy farmers.
