FRANKFORT, Ky.—The healthcare benefits for future public employees workgroup of the Blue Ribbon Commission on Public Employees Retirement Systems will meet on Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at 1:30 p.m. in Room 131 of the Capitol Annex. The meeting is open to the public.

This workgroup is charged with making recommendations to the full commission on sustainable employee and post-employee health benefits for current and future public employees. It is chaired by Cabinet for Health and Family Services Secretary Mark D. Birdwhistell. Members of the committee are: Sen. Charlie Borders, Chairman of the Senate Appropriations and Revenue Committee; Mike Burnside, Finance and Administration Cabinet; Frank R. Hatfield, Kentucky Retired Teachers Association; David A. Jones, governor’s business executive appointee; Sylvia L. Lovely, Kentucky League of Cities; Brent McKim, Kentucky Education Association; and Rep. Harry Moberly, Chairman of the House Appropriations and Revenue Committee.
