“Who Do You Think You Are?” visits the Kentucky State Archives
The Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA) will be featured on the NBC-TV program, “Who Do You Think You Are?” on Friday, April 8, 2011.
“Who Do You Think You Are?” follows one celebrity per episode, on a quest into his or her family history. The celebrity visits archival repositories, libraries and historic sites to search for genealogical information, discovering surprising, inspiring and sometimes tragic stories.
Native Kentuckian Ashley Judd will be featured on the April 8 episode. Judd visited KDLA on February 18, and a film crew followed her as she spent the day using the resources of the Archives Research Room in Frankfort to learn more about her family history.
“Who Do You Think You Are?” airs Fridays at 8 p.m. Eastern time on NBC. More information on this program and on Ashley Judd’s search for her family history is available at http://www.nbc.com/who-do-you-think-you-are.
