Denise Probus Promoted to Assistant Supervisor for Probation and Parole Training
Kentucky Department of Corrections Director of Probation & Parole Roberto Rodriguez today announced the promotion of Denise Probus to the position of assistant supervisor for probation and parole training. She assumed her new duties Jan. 16.
“She has been our go-to person in coordinating the Probation and Parole Pre-Service Academy and curriculum development,” said Rodriguez. “We are very fortunate to have someone in this position who has been a probation and parole officer in the field and therefore understands the needs for curriculum development.”
Probus joined the Department of Corrections in October 2006 as a felony supervision officer in Louisville District 16. She went on to supervise sex offenders, halfway house offenders, misdemeanor and low risk offenders and parolees. Probus spearheaded the training program for Probation & Parole and has served as the primary trainer for Probation & Parole staff since 2011.
In addition to her training role, she currently serves as the division armorer as well as chairperson of the Probation & Parole Firearms Board. Probus has also been deeply involved in re-entry efforts, piloting Thinking for a Change and Moral Recognition Therapy classes in Jefferson County.
Probus is a 2002 graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she received her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. She is also a graduate of the Commissioner’s Executive Leadership Program.
