| Sessions Will Provide Information on AmeriCorps Grants |

| FRANKFORT, Ky. (Oct. 9, 2003)-The Kentucky Commission on Community Volunteerism and Service will conduct a series of informational sessions to help potential applicants for AmeriCorps grants.
Grant funding is available for the operation of a full AmeriCorps program-10 members or more-to address unmet community needs in education, environmental quality, public safety, homeland security and other areas.
Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with 501(c)3 status, educational institutions (local school districts, colleges, universities, etc.), local government entities and state agencies.
Five gatherings, each beginning at 10 a.m. local time, will be held to provide information about the grant application process and AmeriCorps in Kentucky. The sessions are scheduled for:
Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Big Sandy Area Development District, 100 Resource Drive, Prestonsburg. Contact: Sharlett Butler, (606) 886-2374.
