Raffle to Benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
Frankfort, KY: Lieutenant Governor Steve Pence has purchased the first ticket in the 2nd annual St. Jude Dream Home Giveaway for a chance to win a $425,000 house being raffled to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Tickets are now on sale to the general public for $100 each, and a limit of only 8,000 will be sold. Winners of the St. Jude Dream Home and other prizes will be drawn on FOX 41 TV on June 26.
“St. Jude is a very important charity that has treated young cancer patients from Louisville and across the state at no cost to their families for years,” said Lieutenant Governor Pence. “Let us keep in our hearts the brave boys and girls who are coping with cancer today. I encourage all Kentucky citizens to support the work of St. Jude’s Hospital.”
Terry Smith, president of Tumbleweed, is serving as chairman of the fund drive. Rick Martin, of Amos Martin Construction, is spearheading construction of the St. Jude Dream Home, being built on a lot in Persimmon Ridge. Other sponsors of the event include radio station WAMZ and Sea Ray of Louisville.
Tickets are available at all Louisville Buehler’s Markets and Hancock Fabrics. A 24-hour, toll-free “info-line” has been set up to provide event details and accept credit card reservations. That number is 1-800-537-3464.
