Governor Ernie Fletcher makes appointments to the Southeast Community and Technical College Nominating Commission
FRANKFORT, Ky. – Governor Ernie Fletcher has appointed Susan T. Landis, of Harlan, and Deirdre K. Barnes, of Corbin, as the newest members of the Southeast Community and Technical College Nominating Commission.
Landis is an attorney with Johnnie L. Turner, PSC. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Kentucky and her juris doctorate from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She is married to Dr. John W. Landis.
Barnes received a nursing degree from Prestonsburg Community College. She is married to Tim Barnes.
The Southeast Community and Technical College Nominating Commission is made up of five members which are appointed by the governor. The commission is responsible for submitting a list of qualified applicants to the governor when a vacancy occurs on the college’s board of directors.
