Attorney General Jack Conway today announced the arrest of a Franklin County man on child porn charges, including possession of more than 80,000 images and video depicting child pornography. General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit arrested 26-year-old Joshua Thompson of Frankfort on 10 counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.

Thompson's arrest is the result of an ongoing, joint investigation by General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit and the Hamilton County Indiana Child Exploitation Task Force. A search warrant was executed at Thompson's residence on October 22 in Frankfort. A preliminary review of the evidence revealed more than 80,000 child porn images and videos.

Thompson is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin District Court tomorrow. His bond is set at $100,000 full cash.

With today's arrest, General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit, a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, has seized more than 160,000 child pornographic images and videos from the Internet since its creation in June of 2008. The unit has investigated more than 100 child pornography cases in Kentucky.

A charge is merely an accusation and a defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
