Attorney General Conway Announces Arrest of Kenton County Man for Possession and Distribution of Child Pornography
Attorney General Jack Conway today announced the arrest of a Kenton County man on child pornography charges. Sixty-one-year-old Glenn Hurtt of Covington, Ky. was arrested by Covington Police on December 5, 2011 on one count of distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and three counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor.
The charges against Hurtt stem from an undercover investigation by the Attorney General's Cybercrimes Unit that began on September 26, 2011. On October 7, Cybercrimes investigators, with the assistance of Covington Police, executed a search warrant at Hurtt's residence. Following the search, an arrest warrant was issued for Hurtt.
Hurtt entered a not guilty at his arraignment in Kenton District Court on December 6, 2011. He remains jailed in the Kenton County Detention Center in lieu of $2,500 bond.
Since its creation in June of 2008, General Conway's Cybercrimes Unit has launched more than 230 child pornography investigations and seized more than 300,000 child pornographic images and videos from the Internet. The unit is also a member of the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.
