Andrew V. McNeill joins ConnectKentucky staff
Bowling Green, KY: Today, Brian Mefford, ConnectKentucky president and CEO, announced the addition of Andrew V. McNeill to ConnectKentucky’s staff as the Executive Director for Policy and Advocacy. In this role, McNeill will direct the development of ConnectKentucky policy initiatives, foundation outreach, as well as the execution and implementation of the organization’s governmental strategy.
"ConnectKentucky gains a valuable resource with the addition of Andrew McNeill," Mefford said. "Andrew's experience and abilities will contribute significantly to ConnectKentucky's efforts to accelerate technology in the Commonwealth by enhancing the organization’s engagement with new and existing partners, foundations and the federal government."
McNeill will serve as ConnectKentucky's primary intergovernmental relations point of contact in Frankfort and Washington, D.C. He will work closely with senior management and key stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and to ensure that existing partnerships are maintained and new relationships cultivated.
“The opportunity to be a part of an organization dedicated to such a great public mission – the dispersion of information technologies throughout the Commonwealth of Kentucky and beyond – is incredible,” McNeill said. “I look forward to working with the staff of ConnectKentucky, Kentucky’s policy makers and, most important, the people of our Commonwealth to help promote the vision of making Kentucky an even better place to work live and raise a family.”
Prior to joining ConnectKentucky, McNeill was the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Commerce in Kentucky and served as the legislative director for the Governor’s Office. Before coming to state government in 2003, McNeill was the Senior Policy Advisor to the Fletcher for Governor Campaign. He has a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Kentucky’s Martin School of Public Policy and Administration and a bachelor’s degree from Centre College.
