Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea – Open Thanksgiving Weekend – Closed Thanksgiving Day
The Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea will be closed Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27, but open regular hours (9 a.m. to 6 p.m.) all other days that week, providing visitors with exciting possibilities for finding Kentucky-made gifts for that special person on their list. During this traditional kickoff to holiday shopping weekend, Jo Ann Butts, of Sandy Hook, will demonstrate her folk art sculpture on Saturday, Nov. 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and photographer Ed Lawrence, of Frankfort, will sign copies of his new book, "Kentucky 120" from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 29.
Convenient to visitors on this traditional holiday shopping weekend, the Kentucky Artisan Center at Berea is located at 200 Artisan Way, just off Interstate 75 at Berea Exit 77. The Center’s exhibits, shopping, and travel information areas are all open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the cafe offers fine Kentucky cuisine from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Admission is free.
The center currently features works by more than 700 artisans from more than 100 counties
across the Commonwealth. A special exhibit, “Put a Lid On It: Containers by Kentucky Artisans,” is on display through Feb. 28, 2015.
